SCOPE

Document scope

This policy applies to website purchases, SaaS subscription plans, and trials that convert to paid plans. It does not apply to enterprise contracts governed by a separate signed master agreement, whose cancellation and refund terms take precedence.

Status: this page states the general outline of withdrawal and refund practices in plain language. It is not legal advice. Korean e-commerce law (전자상거래법) citations are summary only and must be reviewed by a qualified Korean attorney before this page is published as a binding policy.

§ 01

Statutory withdrawal rights (Korea)

Under § 15 of Korea's Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce (전자상거래법, the "e-commerce act"), a consumer who purchases goods or services through distance selling may generally withdraw within 7 days from the date of receipt or contract. For digital content specifically, a distinct triggering rule under § 17 applies — see Section 03 below.

To exercise this right, email ingeng2004@gmail.com with your account email, invoice or Polar reference, and reason. Upon a valid withdrawal notice, we refund within 3 business days to the original payment method, subject to the digital-content limitations in § 03.

Korean e-commerce law may include provisions on refund-delay interest and cost allocation (§ 16 and related provisions; exact scope to be confirmed by counsel). As AdaptOrch is a digital service with no physical goods shipped, return-shipping-cost allocation rules are not expected to apply, but this has not been independently verified against the current statute.

§ 02

Subscription refunds (Polar)

Paid plans are billed through Polar, acting as Merchant of Record (MoR). Polar is responsible for payment processing, invoicing, tax, and refund execution on our behalf.

Our refund practice: a full refund is available if you request it on the same calendar day as the purchase or recurring charge and before meaningful use of the service has begun. Once meaningful use has begun, the digital-content limitations in § 03 apply and the charge is generally non-refundable.

You can manage your subscription and request a refund through the Polar customer portal, or by emailing us.

§ 03

Digital content limitations

The digital-content-specific withdrawal window referenced in Section 01 begins on this triggering date (supply/availability), separately from the general receipt-date rule for physical goods or services. Under § 17 of the e-commerce act, the right of withdrawal for digital content may be limited once supply has begun with the consumer's consent. For AdaptOrch, "meaningful use" begins when you actively run agent tasks, make inference API calls, or consume quota beyond de minimis evaluation.

Withdrawal is still honored where: (a) the service does not match what was represented, (b) only part of the content was provided or a copy was damaged, or (c) a defect is our responsibility.

§ 04

Refund processing

Approved refunds are issued by Polar to the original payment method, in the original currency, less any non-refundable pass-through costs described in § 05. Typical processing: within 3 business days from our confirmation to Polar executing the refund; card-network settlement may add several business days before the credit appears on your statement.

§ 05

Non-refundable cases

The following are not eligible for refund:

  • Digital content after meaningful use, per § 03.
  • BYOK LLM provider costs already passed through to the LLM providers you selected — these are third-party charges that have been incurred and are outside our control.
  • Charges explicitly agreed to be non-refundable in a signed enterprise agreement.

§ 06

How to request a refund

Email ingeng2004@gmail.com with: your account email, the invoice or Polar transaction reference, and the reason for your request. Alternatively, use the Polar customer portal to manage your subscription and request a refund directly.
